Cascada Verde is located between
Manuel Antonio and the Osa Peninsula, just beyond
the tiny Pacific Coast of Playa Uvita de Osa.
Playa Uvita is a typical farmers and fishers village
at the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica and its
called the door to the Osa Peninsula.
Uvita offers beautiful topical beaches, rainforest,
fishing, surfing, waterfalls, wandering rivers,
and so much more. All year round mild tropical weather
makes Uvita a wonderful place to live or visit.
The town of Uvita has restaurants, bars, shops,
supermarkets, a bank, a pharmacy, an Internet-Café,
a police station, information center, and other
local needs making necessities easy to meet. Also
available is a hospital near by for any health needs.
There is no malaria in this area.
Restaurants and bars offer great seafood, local
cuisine, and fun entertainment. Uvita has a variety
of places to dine and enjoy the local atmosphere.
There is plenty to offer in choices of where to
eat in Uvita.
Driving time from San Jose is about 5 hours, but
there are other options on how to get to Uvita.
You may choose to fly to a little south of Uvita
from San Jose, or take a shuttle bus that will have
a driver take you to your destination, or take the
local public bus.
Directions
To get to Cascada Verde:
From San Jose:
Take any one of the three bus lines to San Isidro
de General. Buses leave daily every hour. The trip
takes 3 hours and costs about $3.
From San Isidro take the bus from the Uvita/Dominical
station to Uvita. Buses leave at 9:00 a.m. & 4:00
p.m. It takes about 2 hours and costs about $2.
To arrive in daylight catch the 9:00 a.m. bus. Get
off after the gas station. Please ask the
bus driver for "Cooperativa Uvita".
If you arrive at night you will need a flashlight.
You can purchase one at the supermarket.

can arrange your airport or hotel pick up and direct
transport to Cascada Verde.
From Manuel Antonio/Quepos:
Take the bus from Quepos to Dominical. Take the
bus from Dominical to Uvita. Buses leave Dominical
at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Uvita is 60 km. or 35 miles south of Manuel Antonio.
From Dominical:
We are located 18 km. south of Dominical. You may
visit us on a half day trip from Dominical.
By Car :
Drive 18 km. (approx. 11 mi.) south and follow the
map of Uvita.
By Bus:
The bus to Uvita leaves Dominical daily at 10:00
AM from "San Clemente" and returns at 3:00 PM.
From Panama:
Take the Frontera Bus to Neily, then the bus to
Palmar Norte, then the bus to Uvita or you could
hitchhike.

If you arrive by bus, get off the bus at the Cooperativa
Uvita bus stop, the main Uvita stop. The bus driver
will be able to direct you. Cross the road and follow
the map. It is a 20 minute walk up the hill. Take
your time. It is worth the walk.
Written directions are: Go 800m through the
town of Uvita towards the mountains. Turn
left on the 3rd road in from the main street (just
past the cemetery.) Go up hill another 400m
until you see the Cascada Verde sign on the left
(just past the blue water tank.) This road
dead-ends at our property.
There is a sign on the side of the road below the
house marking the entrance path. If you arrive by
car you may park it in the area just above and to
the left of the entrance.
Another option is getting a taxi from the
Soda Naranjita located next to
the bus stop. Just ask for Cascada Verde or
Patricio's. The ride should cost no more than
$3.
