Getting Here is easy and well worth the trip

We are living in UVITA DE OSA on the beautiful and still pristine South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
You can fly, drive, take an air conditioned minibus or take the regular bus.

Getting Here by Bus
From San Jose, you can go along the coast direct but it is 7 hour bus ride, if you are also going to be going to Manuel Antonio or someplace else up north, then this is a good option.
The fastest way to get to us from San Jose is to go t
hrough the mountains with a stop in
San Isidro De General; only 3 + 2 hours
Buses from San Jose via San Isidro
There are two BUS lines (Musoc and tracopa) from 5am to 5pm almost every hour.
Takes about 3 hours and cost about $5. (short taxi ride from central San Jose)
Buses San Isidro to Cascada Verde
In San Isidro change to the Uvita/ Quepos Bus Station. 10 minutes walk or $2 by taxi.
Busses from there to Uvita leave at 9am and 4pm.
Takes about 1.5 hours and costs about $3.

Arriving in Uvita - Local directions to Cascada Verde
If you arrive by bus from san jose or via quepos/manuel antonio, get off the bus at the Uvita bus stop. The main Uvita stop, right after the gas station and in front of restaurant Donia Maria. There is also a fruit market and and the very friendly and helpful Uvita Information Center. They speak english, french, german and can find you a taxi and have answers for all your questions about the region.
At this main Uvita intersection cross the main road and follow the map below. It is about a 15 minute walk. Take your time. It is worth the walk.
There is a sign on the side of the road below the house marking the entrance path. If you arrive by car you may park it in the area just above and to the left of the entrance. |
Getting here by Car, or by Bus Via Manuel Antonio, Dominical or Panama
From Manuel Antonio/Quepos:
Take the bus from Quepos to Dominical. Take the bus from Dominical
to Uvita. Buses leave Dominical at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Uvita is 60 km. or 35 miles south of Manuel Antonio.
From Dominical:
We are located 18 km. south of Dominical. You may visit us on a
half day trip from Dominical.
By Car :
Drive 18 km. (approx. 11 mi.) south of Dominical and then follow Uvita map above.
By Bus:
The bus to Uvita leaves Dominical daily at 10:00 AM from "San Clemente"
and returns at 3:00 PM.
From Panama:
Take the Frontera Bus to Neily, then the bus to Palmar Norte, then
the bus to Uvita or you could hitchhike.
